4-Hydroxyacetophenone (P-hydroxyacetophenone) is a major hepatoprotective and choleretic compound found in Artemisia and Illicium plants, exhibiting antiviral and anti-inflammatory effects against hepatitis B virus. Additionally, 4-Hydroxyacetophenone inhibits cancer cell adhesion, invasion, and migration by remodeling actin. 4-Hydroxyacetophenone holds promise for research in the fields of inflammatory diseases and cancer[1][2]. In Vitro:4-Hydroxyacetophenone (P-hydroxyacetophenone) inhibits adhesion, invasion, and migration largely through NM2C activity in HCT116 cells[2]. In Vivo:4-Hydroxyacetophenone (P-hydroxyacetophenone) (1 mg/kg, s.i. daily redosing for 4 weeks) limits the development and spread of metastases in the colon cancer metastasis to the liver mice model[2].
