Introduction of 99-43-4 :

Oxybuprocaine is a short-acting ester anesthetic. Oxybuprocaine binds to sodium channels and reversibly stabilizes neuronal membranes. Oxybuprocaine has cutaneous analgesic properties. Oxybuprocaine is less potent than Bupivacaine (HY-B0405) at producing central nervous system and cardiovascular toxicity. Oxybuprocaine can be used in ophthalmology and otolaryngology[1][2][3][4][5][6]. In Vivo:Oxybuprocaine (0.4%; topical instillation into eyes) hydrochloride ensures good conductivity and local anesthesia when applied before electrical stimulation in the maximal electroshock (MES) and 6-Hz seizure models in mice[3].
Oxybuprocaine (6.67 μmol/kg/min; i.v.) hydrochloride produces slower decreases in mean arterial blood pressure and heart rate compared with Bupivacaine (HY-B0405) in Sprague-Dawley rats, and the time to induce seizure, apnea, and impending death is longer than that of Bupivacaine[4].
