DMT-dT Phosphoramidite is typically used in the synthesis of DNA[1]. In Vitro:DMT-dT Phosphoramidite is used as a protecting group and synthetic intermediate in DNA synthesis. DMT (Dimethoxytrityl) is protecting group for protecting the hydroxyl (-OH) group in DNA synthesis from undergoing unwanted reactions. dT stands for deoxythymidine, which is one of the basic building blocks of DNA. Phosphoramidite interacts with the hydroxyl group (-OH) at the 5' end of the DNA chain to form a new phosphodiester bond, thereby extending the DNA chain. DMT-dT Phosphoramidite can be used for surface functionalization or DNA probe synthesis[2].
