Halobetasol propionate is an effective short term superpotent topical corticosteroids (TCS). Halobetasol propionate has an intense anti-inflammatory effect with an ED50 value of 1.45 μg. Halobetasol can be used for psoriasis reasearch[1][2].
In Vitro:Halobetasol (0.05-12.85 μM, 24 h) does not affect cell viability in the studied concentrations in HaCaT and THP-1 cells[1].
Halobetasol (0.13-5.14 μM, 24 h) has anti-inflammatory effect in HaCaT and THP-1 cells[1].
In Vivo:Halobetasol (0.5 ml, intradermal injection) has anti-inflammatory effect in histamine-induced wheal suppression New Zealand male albino rabbits[2].
