2-Thiophenecarboxaldehyde (Thiophene-2-carboxaldehyde) is an antibiotic that exhibits antibacterial and nematicidal activities[1][2].
In Vitro:2-Thiophenecarboxaldehyde forms metal complexes with metal ions Fe, Co, Ni, Cu and Zn , improves the actibacterial activity of 2-Thiophenecarboxaldehyde against E. coli, S. aureus and P. aeruginosa[1].
In Vivo:2-Thiophenecarboxaldehyde (10-1000 mg/L, 24 h) inhibits the movement of J2 larvae, causes paralysis and death of Meloydogyne incognita (EC50=14.08 mg/L) through fumigant activity[2].
