Lipstatin is a very potent pancreatic lipase inhibitor can be isolated from Streptomyces toxytricini. Lipstatin inhibits the hydrolysis of trioleate by porcine pancreatic lipase with an IC50 of 0.14 μM[1]. In Vivo:Lipstatin (20, 60 mg/kg; p.o.; single dose; 3 days) dose-dependently inhibits the absorption of triolein, whereas oleic acid is absorbed normally in mice[1].
