DuP 105 is an orally active oxazolidinone with activity against Gram-positive bacteria. DuP 105 protects staphylococcal and streptococcal infections in mice. DuP 105 can be used for the study of infections caused by gram-positive bacteria[1][2].
In Vitro:DuP 105 (4-16 μg/mL) inhibits the growth of all tested clinical isolates of staphylococci (including Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Staphylococcus haemolyticus, Staphylococcus hominis), streptococci (Lancefield groups A, B, D including Streptococcus faecalis ) and Bacteroides fragilis[1].
In Vivo:DuP 105 (100 mg/kg, s.c. or p.o., twice daily for 4 days) reduces Staphylococcus aureus 1A load in kidneys of CF-1 female mice[1].
