2,2,5,7,8-Pentamethyl-6-Chromanol (PMC) is the anti-oxidant moiety of vitamin E (α-tocopherol). 2,2,5,7,8-Pentamethyl-6-Chromanol has potent androgen receptor (AR) signaling modulation and anti-cancer activity against prostate cancer cell lines[1].
In Vitro:2,2,5,7,8-Pentamethyl-6-Chromanol (4-12 μM, 90 min) inhibits the respiratory burst and migration of neutrophils induced by fMLP (HY-P0224), PMA (HY-18739) or LTB4 (HY-107608)[4].
In Vivo:2,2,5,7,8-Pentamethyl-6-Chromanol (1-10 mg/kg, po, four times weekly for 8 weeks) scavenges free radical, inhibits the activation of NF-κB pathway, thereby inhibiting CCl4 (HY-Y0298)-induced hepatotoxicity in mouse models[2].
2,2,5,7,8-Pentamethyl-6-Chromanol (5-20 μg/g, iv, single dose) exhibits antiplatelet and antithrombotic activity in mouse Fluorescein sodium (HY-D0208)-induced microvascular thrombosis model and ADP (HY-W010918)-induced acute pulmonary thrombosis model[3].
