N-methyl-N-dithiocarboxyglucamine (MDCG) mobilizes and promotes excretion of metallothione-bound 109Cd. N-methyl-N-dithiocarboxyglucamine shows effects on acute and chronic Cd intoxication[1]. In Vivo: N-methyl-N-dithiocarboxyglucamine (684-2736 mg/kg; i.p., three daily injection) effectively promotes fecal Cd excretion over a 3-day period[1]. N-methyl-N-dithiocarboxyglucamine (2736 mg/kg; i.p., three times a week) reduces the kidney and liver Cd levels[1].
