Chalcone is isolated from Glycyrrhiza uralensis and used to synthesize chalcone derivatives. Chalcone derivatives possess varied biological and pharmacological activity, including anti-inflammatory, antioxidative, antibacterial, anticancer, and anti-parasitic activities[1]. In Vitro: Chalcone derivatives are synthesized by Claisen-Shimidt base-catalyzed condensation of appropriate aromatic ketones or substituted aromatic ketones with benzaldehydes or substituted benzaldehydes[1].
