Introduction of 939825-12-4 :

OB-24 is a selective small-molecule HO-1 inhibitor (IC50 = 1.9 μM for HO-1 and IC50 for HO-2 >100 μM). OB-24 possesses anti-tumor and anti-metastatic properties. OB-24 can be studies in research such as prostate cancer, melanoma, ovarian carcinoma and lung metastasis[1][2]. In Vitro:OB-24 (10 μM, 24-48 h) results in around 20% growth inhibition and 62% HO-1 inhibition in PC3M cells[1].
OB-24 (6.5 μM) reduces cell proliferation by approximately 10%, HO-1 activity by 59%, protein carbonylation by 40%, and intracellular ROS by 43% in HO-1 overexpressing rat glioma C6 cells[1].
OB-24 (10 μM, 96 h) induces around 86% protein carbonylation inhibition, and 25% intracellular ROS inhibition in PC3M cells[1].
OB-24 (5-10 μM, 10 min) reduces activation of the MAPK ERK and p38 kinases but no clear inhibition is seen on JNK or AKT phosphorylation in PC3M cells and results in similar inhibition in LNCaP and DU145 cells[1]. OB-24 has selectivity to HO-1 (IC50 = 1.9 μM against HO-1 in rat spleen) whereas the IC50 against HO-2 in rat brain is >100 μM[3].
In Vivo:OB-24 (10-60 mg/kg, i.p., on days 1, 3, and 5 per cycle for 4 cycle) results in a dose-dependent inhibition of tumor growth and no body weight loss in PC3M Scid male mice[1].
OB-24 (10-30 mg/kg, i.v., on days 1, 3, and 5 per cycle for 4 cycle) results in approximately 50% tumor growth reduction and lymph node and lung metastases with 30 mg/kg in PC3M Scid male mice bearing palpable advanced prostate cancer[1].
