Ceftolozane sulfate is a cephalosporin antibiotic active against Gram-negative pathogens. Ceftolozane sulfate acts as a bactericide and reduces Klebsiella pneumoniae thigh tissue loads in neutropenic mice. Ceftolozane sulfate can be used in studies related to bacterial infections[1][2][3][4].
In Vitro:Ceftolozane (0.5-50 μg/mL; 1-7 days) sulfate is stable in human K2EDTA plasma for at least 7 days at 6 °C and −20 °C, shows acceptable stability (≤15% decay) for 71.2 h at 23 °C and 5.6 h at 40 °C, with comparable stability at 0.5 μg/mL and 50 μg/mL concentrations[2].
Ceftolozane (50 μg/mL; 1-7 days) sulfate is stable in human K2EDTA full blood for at least 7 days at 6 °C, and shows acceptable stability (≤15% decay) for 121.8 h at 23 °C, with stability comparable to plasma samples[2].
