Calf thymus DNA (DNA from calf thymus) is high quality double-stranded template DNA isolated from the thymus of male and female calves. Calf thymus DNA can be used for the research of the interaction between DNA and agents[1].
In Vitro:Calf thymus DNA interacts with the antiviral drug Lamivudine that can be studied using emission, absorption, circular dichroism (CD), and viscosity techniques[2].
Note: To reduce DNA shearing, sonication or agitation should not be used. It's recommended to shake gently overnight at 0-4°C to completely dissolve the DNA.
