Liguzinediol

Liguzinediol is a protein phosphatase 1 (PP1) and protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A) inhibitor that enhances the activity of sarcoplasmic reticulum Ca²⁺-ATPase (SERCA2a). Liguzinediol reduces the dephosphorylation level of phospholamban and increases the phosphorylation levels of phospholamban at serine-16 and threonine-17 sites. Liguzinediol exerts positive inotropic effects in rat hearts both in vivo and in vitro, and reverses caffeine-induced decrease in myocardial contractility in isolated rat hearts. Liguzinediol can be used for the research of heart failure^[1]. In Vitro:Liguzinediol (100 μM; 30 min) inhibits the activities of PP1 and PP2A in left ventricular tissue extracts of rats^[1].
Liguzinediol (1-100 μM; 30 min) enhances the phosphorylation of PLB at Ser-16 and Thr-17 in isolated rat ventricular myocytes in a concentration-dependent manner in vitro^[1]. In Vivo:Liguzinediol (20 mg/kg; intravenous injection; single administration) significantly enhances left ventricular systolic function in healthy male SD rats^[1].
