Rhamnetin is a quercetin derivative found in Coriandrum sativum, inhibits secretory phospholipase A2 and histone deacetylase 2 (HDAC2). Rhamnetin exhibits antitumor, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity[1][2].
In Vitro:Rhamnetin (0-10 μM, 24-48 h) inhibits the proliferation of cancer cell SKOV3 with an an IC50 of 1.22 μM (24 h)[2].
Rhamnetin (0-10 μM, 24 h) arrests the cell cycle of SKOV3 at G1 phase, and induces apoptosis[2].
In Vivo:Rhamnetin (50-200 mg/kg, ip, once daily for 21 days) improves cognitive dysfunction after traumatic brain injury in rats and inhibits inflammatory response and oxidative stress in the hippocampus[3].
