VCH-286 is a novel small-molecule CCR5 antagonist with high affinity for the CCR5 receptor. Binding kinetic studies showed that VCH-286 has a slower off rate suggesting a prolonged CCR5 receptor occupancy compared to MVC. VCH-286 has potent activity in inhibiting HIV-1 replication in PBMC with favorable combination profiles with approved ARV. All together these data suggest that VCH-286 could provide an effective blockade of CCR5-dependent HIV entry and support further development of this compound.
