S-6123 is a potent antimicrobial compound of the oxazolidinone series. S-6123 inhibits ribosomal protein synthesis without inhibiting DNA or RNA synthesis[1]. In Vitro: S-6123 exhibits potent antimicrobial activity against gram-positive bacterias, Streptococcus pyogenes; Streptococcus agalactiae; Group C and G streptococci; Viridans group streptococci, penicillin susceptible; and Viridans group streptococci, penicillin resistant with MIC values of 16 μg/ml; 32 μg/ml; 16 μg/ml; 16 μg/ml; 8 μg/ml; 32 μg/ml, respectively.
