TTHA is an aminopolycarboxylic acid chelating agent with preferential affinity for lighter (lower atomic number) rare earth element (REE) ions. TTHA binds to REE ions through chelation as the primary coordination mechanism[1]. In Vitro:TTHA (2 weeks) forms a nine-coordinate complex with Dy3+ under neutral pH (6.5) conditions, in which one carboxylate group is protonated and unbound[1].
