Anamorelin (RC-1291) hydrochloride is an orally active Ghrelin receptor agonist with an EC50 of 0.74 nM. Anamorelin hydrochloride can promote appetite, increase body weight, and stimulate the secretion of growth hormone and insulin-like growth factor-1. Anamorelin hydrochloride can be used in the research of anorexia and cancer cachexia[1][2].
IC50 & Target:Ki: 0.7 nM (Ghrelin receptor)[1]
EC50: 0.74 nM (Ghrelin receptor)[1]
In Vitro:Anamorelin (0.01 nM-10 μM; 15 min) hydrochloride stimulates growth hormone release in a dose-dependent manner in rat pituitary cells, with an EC50 of 1.5 nM[1].
In Vivo:Anamorelin (3-30 mg/kg; oral administration; 6 days) hydrochloride increases food intake and body weight in rats in a dose-dependent manner[1].
Anamorelin (3.5 mg/kg; oral administration; 1-7 days) hydrochloride significantly elevates the levels of growth hormone and insulin-like growth factor-1 in pigs[1].
Anamorelin (3-30 mg/kg; oral administration; 28 days) hydrochloride does not promote tumor growth in a nude mouse model of lung cancer xenografts, but increases the body weight of nude mice[2].
