MEGA-10 (N-Oxodecyl meglumine) is a nonionic sugar-based surfactant. MEGA-10 sequesters n-alkylbenzenes into its hydrophobic core via micelle formation as a solubilizer[1][2]. In Vitro:MEGA-10 can solubilize benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, n-propylbenzene, n-butylbenzene, n-pentylbenzene, and n-hexane above its critical micelle concentration (cmc), and the solubilization affinity increases with the elongation of the alkyl chain length of solubilizates[2].
