Schinifoline is a 4-quinolinone found in Zanthoxylum schinifolium. Schinifoline can inhibit cancer cells proliferation, cause G2/M phase arrest and induce apoptosis. Schinifoline can improve radiosensitizing effect of cancer cells. Schinifoline shows anti-fungal activity. Schinifoline can be used for the researches of cancer and infection, such as lung cancer and C. albicans infection[1][2].
In Vitro:Schinifoline (0-200 μg/mL, 6-24 h) inhibit proliferation in A549 cells[1].
Schinifoline (4 μg/mL, 14 days) inhibits colony forming in A549 cells[1].
Schinifoline (4 μg/mL) induces apoptosis in A549 cells[1].
Schinifoline (4 μg/mL, 12 h) induces G2/M phase arrest in A549 cells[1].
In Vivo:Schinifoline (100 mg/L, 24 h) inhibits C. albicans virulence and prolongs survival in C. elegans infected with C. albicans[2].
