Tiglic acid is a monocarboxylic unsaturated organic acid. Tiglic acid can be isolated from croton oil. Tiglic acid agonizes FFA2 and upregulates PYY expression. Tiglic acid derivatives have anti-inflammatory activity. Tiglic acid can be used in the research of obesity, diabetes, and inflammatory diseases[1][2][3]. In Vitro:Tiglic acid (100 μM; 24 h) significantly upregulates the expression of the PYY gene in the NCI-h716 human enteroendocrine cell line, with a similar effect magnitude to Acetate[2].
