In Vitro:Cobalt (II) chloride hexahydrate, for cell culture (5-100 mg/L; 12-24 h) has antiproliferative activity against multiple cancer cell lines. It can induce apoptosis and cell cycle arrest in PC-3 cells. The mechanism is related to the increased generation of ROS, the decrease of mitochondrial membrane potential, and the enhanced activity of caspase-3[1].
