(R)-Edelfosine induces membrane perturbation by forming interdigitated bilayers and inserting into membranes. (R)-Edelfosine can be used in research related to cancer and HIV[1]. In Vitro:(R)-ET-18-OMe forms interdigitated bilayers at 98% RH and 14°C, with a headgroup-to-headgroup distance of 30.6 Å and efficient lipid packing[1].
