Sultamicillin is a broad-spectrum and orally active beta-lactamase inhibitor, an antibiotic with antibacterial activity[1].
In Vitro:Sultamicillin shows antibacterial activity against MRSA with a MIC value of 25 μg/mL[4].
In Vivo:Upon oral absorption, Sultamicillin is hydrolyzed to Sulbactam (HY-B0334) and Ampicillin (HY-B0522)[2].
Sultamicillin (oral gavage, every 12 h) combined with immunosuppression agent (eg: Mycophenolate mofetil (HY-B0199) and Methylprednisolone (HY-B0260)) markedly improves survival of experimental polymicrobial sepsis in mice, and enhances bacterial clearance[3].
