8-OH-DPAT (8-Hydroxy-DPAT) hydrobromide is a potent, brain-penetrant and selective 5-HT1A agonist with a pIC50 of 8.19. 8-OH-DPAT hydrobromide has selectivity of almost 1000 fold for a subtype of the 5-HT1 binding site[1].
In Vitro:8-OH-DPAT (8-Hydroxy-DPAT) hydrobromide has no effect on 5-HT1B binding at concentrations lower than 100 nM[1].
In Vivo:8-OH-DPAT (8-Hydroxy-DPAT) hydrobromide (32, 56, 80, 100 mg/kg; intramuscularly; 15 min prior to the testing session) of the highest dose significantly interferes with sustained attention and reinforcer efficacy (progressive ratio; PR) performance in the 3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA)-exposed but not control animals[1].
