D-(+)-Phenyllactic acid is an anti-bacterial agent, excreted by Geotrichum candidum, inhibits a range of Gram-positive from humans and foodstuffs and Gram-negative bacteria found in humans[1].
In Vitro:D-(+)-Phenyllactic acid inhibits the interaction between Mcl-1 and Bim with an IC50 of 0.161 μM[2].
D-(+)-Phenyllactic acid inhibits the cell viability of SKBR-3 with an EC50 of 112.69 nM[2].
D-(+)-Phenyllactic acid (5-20 mg/mL, 27 h) exhibits broad-spectrum antibacterial effect, inhibits L. monocytogenes, S. aureus, E. faecalis and K. oxytoca[3].
