1-Methyluric acid acts on the urinary bladder mucosa and increases the blood glucose, insulin, triglyceride, and cholesterol levels. In Vivo: Perfusion of the urinary bladder with 1-Methyl uric acid solution shows an increase in the serum total cholesterol level, true triglyceride level, glucose level and insulin level on comparison with perfusion of the urinary bladder with distilled water[1].
