Arabinosylhypoxanthine is a purine nucleoside analog. Arabinosylhypoxanthine selectively inhibits viral DNA synthesis. Arabinosylhypoxanthine exhibits anti-HSV activity. Arabinosylhypoxanthine can be used in studies related to herpes simplex virus infection[1].
In Vitro:Arabinosylhypoxanthine (0-160 μg/mL; 0-24 h) inhibits HSV-induced syncytium formation in BHK-21/4 cells[1].
Arabinosylhypoxanthine (3.2-32 μg/mL; 12 h) reduces HSV replication levels in synchronized KB cells[1].
Arabinosylhypoxanthine (3.2-32 μg/mL) selectively inhibits viral DNA synthesis in HSV-infected synchronized KB cells[1].
