5,6-Dihydro-5-methyluracil (Dihydrothymine) is an intermediate breakdown product of Thymine (HY-W010450). 5,6-Dihydro-5-methyluracil can be used as a marker of DNA damage. 5,6-Dihydro-5-methyluracil can be used for the research of COVID-19[1][2]. In Vitro:5,6-Dihydro-5-methyluracil X-irradiation of d(TpA) in anaerobic aqueous solution produces 5,6-dihydrothymine-modified d(TpA) as the most abundant lesion[2].
