DMNQ is a redox cycling agent. DMNQ produces hydrogen peroxide in cells in a concentration-dependent manner. DMNQ can induce the increase of ROS production[1][2].
IC50 & Target:γ-glutamylcysteine synthetase (γ-GCs)[2].
In Vitro:DMNQ (20-100 μM; 30 min) can induce H2O2 production in a concentration-dependent manner in A549-S cells[1].
DMNQ (5-10 μM; 0-24 h) can increase glutathione (GSH) (physiological antioxidant) content in L2 cells in a time- and dose-dependent manner by enhancing the activity of γ-glutamylcysteine synthetase (γ-GCs) (70%) [2].
