Ceftolozane

Ceftolozane is a cephalosporin antibiotic active against Gram-negative pathogens. Ceftolozane acts as a bactericide and reduces Klebsiella pneumoniae thigh tissue loads in neutropenic mice. Ceftolozane can be used in studies related to bacterial infections^[1][2][3][4]. In Vitro:Ceftolozane (0.5-50 μg/mL; 1-7 days) is stable in human K₂EDTA plasma for at least 7 days at 6 °C and −20 °C, shows acceptable stability (≤15% decay) for 71.2 h at 23 °C and 5.6 h at 40 °C, with comparable stability at 0.5 μg/mL and 50 μg/mL concentrations^[2].
Ceftolozane (50 μg/mL; 1-7 days) is stable in human K₂EDTA full blood for at least 7 days at 6 °C, and shows acceptable stability (≤15% decay) for 121.8 h at 23 °C, with stability comparable to plasma samples^[2].
