Introduction of 68-89-3 :

Metamizole sodium (Dipyrone) is an orally active cyclooxygenase (COX) inhibitor. Metamizole sodium can inhibit cell proliferation and promote cell apoptosis. Metamizole sodium has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activities. Metamizole sodium is an antipyretic, analgesic and spasmolytic agent. .Metamizole sodium can be used in research to relieve a variety of pain[1][2][3][4][5]. IC50 & Target:COX-3[2] In Vitro: Metamizole sodium (1 and 10 μM, 24 h) can inhibit osteoblast differentiation and thus reduce its ability to generate new bone mineralized extracellular matrix[2].
Metamizole sodium (1-500 μM, 48 h) can inhibit cell proliferation and promote apoptosis in pancreatic cancer cell lines PaTu 8988 t and Panc-1[3].
In Vivo: Metamizole sodium (500 mg/kg, intraperitoneal injection twice a day for 7 days) can reduce the development of neuropathic pain symptoms in rats[4].
Metamizole sodium (250 or 500 mg/kg, orally) can effectively relieve pain and oxidative stress induced by scalpel incision and carrageenan in rats[5].
