Introduction of 642-38-6 :

L-Quebrachitol is a methoxy analog of inositol that can be isolated from plants. L-Quebrachitol has free-radical scavenging, gastroprotection, anti-platelet aggregation and anti-diabetic activity. L-Quebrachitol promotes osteoblastogenesis by uppregulation of BMP-2, runt-related transcription factor-2 (Runx2), MAPK (ERK, JNK, p38α), and Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway[1][2][3]. In Vitro:L-Quebrachitol (0.01-100 μg/mL , 24-72 h) enhances the cell viability of pre-osteoblastic MC3T3-E1 cells[1].
L-Quebrachitol ( 0.001-10 μg/mL , 48 h) promotes cell DNA synthesis in MC3T3-E1 cells[1].
L-Quebrachitol ( 0.001-10 μg/mL , 48 h) up-regulates mRNA expression of BMP-2, Runx2, osteogenesis markers and increases expression of a gene involved in the MAPK and Wnt/β-Catenin in MC3T3-E1 cells[1].
L-Quebrachitol (0-1.5 mg/mL , 24 h) significantly decreases the cell viability in HepG2 cells[3].
In Vivo:L-Quebrachitol (125 mg/kg) significantly reduces weight gain, increases bone mineral density and bone calcium content of ovariectomized rats[2].
