W-5 hydrochloride is a calmodulin antagonist. W-5 hydrochloride inhibits phosphodiesterase activation with an IC50 value of 240 µM. W-5 hydrochloride can be used as a negative control for W-7 (HY-100912)[1][2]. IC50 & Target:IC50: 240 µM (phosphodiesterase)[1] In Vitro:W-5 hydrochloride (40 µM; 24 h; incubation with 10 μg/mL of apolipoprotein A-I (apoA-I)) increases the cholesterol and choline-phospholipid efflux[1].
