Medicagenic acid (Castanogenin) is isolated from the roots of Herniaria glabra, exhibits potent fungistatic effects against several plant pathogens and human dermatophytes[1]. Medicagenic acid (Castanogenin) has low enzyme inhibitory activities, the target enzymes are xanthine oxidase, collagenase, elastase, tyrosinase, ChE[2]. In Vitro:Medicagenic acid (0.001–100 μM, 5 min) enhances Acetylcholin (HY-B0282)-induced contraction in bovine abomasum smooth muscle[3].
