Cyclosporin C is a fungal metabolite that has been found in T. inflatum and has diverse biological activities, including antifungal, antiviral, and immunosuppressant properties. Cyclosporin C shows no activity against bacteria or yeasts[1][2][3].
In Vitro:Cyclosporin C is active against isolates of Fusarium fumigatum, Aspergillus Niger, Cyclospora, Mucor and Penicillium (MICs = 0.1-5 μg/mL)[1].
Cyclosporin C (15 μg/mL) inhibits vaccinia virus replication in infected BSC40 cells by 98.82%[2].
Cyclosporin C (100 ng/mL) inhibits lymphocyte proliferation induced by the mitogens concanavalin A (HY-P2149), phytohemagglutinin L (HY-N7038), and pokeweed mitogen (HY-NP187)[3].
In Vivo:Cyclosporin C (100 ng/mL, once) inhibits the local graft-versus-host (GVH) reaction in mice receiving splenocyte grafts[3].
