Laurocapram

Laurocapram is a chemical penetration enhancer that increases the permeability of compounds through the skin and mucous membranes, thereby improving their local or systemic efficacy. Laurocapram improves the skin permeability of a variety of hydrophilic and lipophilic compounds^[1]. In Vitro:Laurocapram (16-64 μg/mL, 24 h) synergizes with β-lactam antibiotics, such as Cefixime (HY-B1381), Penicillin G (HY-N7139) and Polymyxin E (HY-A0089), and improves their antibacterial activity against S. aureus, especially MRSA strains^[2]. In Vivo:Laurocapram (50 mg/kg, ip, every 12 hours for 3 doses) exhibits anti-infectious activity in MRSA-induced mouse pneumonia model, ameliorates the infection wounds in MRSA-administrated mouse skin infection model^[2].
