Metamizole sodium hydrate can be used in research to relieve a variety of pain[1][2][3][4][5]. IC50 & Target:COX[1] In Vitro: Metamizole sodium hydrate (1 and 10 μM, 24 h) can inhibit osteoblast differentiation and thus reduce its ability to generate new bone mineralized extracellular matrix[2].
Metamizole sodium hydrate (1-500 μM, 48 h) can inhibit cell proliferation and promote apoptosis in pancreatic cancer cell lines PaTu 8988 t and Panc-1[3].
In Vivo: Metamizole sodium hydrate (500 mg/kg, intraperitoneal injection twice a day for 7 days) can reduce the development of neuropathic pain symptoms in rats[4].
Metamizole sodium hydrate (250 or 500 mg/kg, orally) can effectively relieve pain and oxidative stress induced by scalpel incision and carrageenan in rats[5].
