(±)-Camphor-10-sulfonic acid is a racemate of Camphor-10-sulfonic acid. (±)-Camphor-10-sulfonic acid can be used as an organocatalyst in performing a huge array of organic transformations[1]. In Vitro:(±)-Camphor-10-sulfonic acid is Brönsted acid catalyst, which provides protons (H+) to reduce the activation energy of the reaction. (±)-Camphor-10-sulfonic acid catalyzes many types of reactions, such as Friedel-Crafts reaction, Michael addition reaction and Mannich reaction[2].
