Febantel is an oral dewormer used to treat gastrointestinal nematodes in sheep, as well as roundworm and tapeworm infections in poultry and livestock, and it also inhibits the embryonic development of mouse hairworms and whipworm eggs[1][2].
In Vivo:Febantel (500 mg/kg, orally, single dose) is excreted in mice infected with T. muris, preventing the eggs from developing into larvae[1].
Febantel (0.5-2.5 mg/kg, orally, single dose) effectively stops the hatching and development of parasitic eggs in sheep infected with Haemonchus contortus[1].
