Introduction of 58-85-5 :

Biotin, vitamin B7 and serves as a coenzyme for five carboxylases in humans, involved in the synthesis of fatty acids, isoleucine, and valine, and in gluconeogenesis. Biotin is necessary for cell growth, the production of fatty acids, and the metabolism of fats and amino acids[1][2][3]. In Vitro:Biotin exhibits higher affinity on breast cancer (T47D) cells over normal mammary epithelial (MCF-12A) cells, with Kms of 9.24 μM and 53.1 μM, respecetively[4].
Biotin (0.09-100 μM; 0-70 min) is dose-dependently uptake by T47D cells with Vmax of 27.34 pmol/mg protein/min[4].
Biotin (1-1000 nM; 24 h) exerts function in the recovery of 7β-OHC (50 µM)-induced cell death and reduces cell adhesion[5].
In Vivo:Biotin (15 mg/kg/d; p.o.; 12 d) improves nephrotoxicity in streptozotocin-induced (150 mg/kg; i.p.) diabetic mice[6].
Biotin (0.012 mg/kg/d; p.o.; 70 d) deficiency impaires the immune function of the head kidney, spleen and skin in fish with inadequate administration dose[7].
