Diaziquone (NSC 182986), an aziridinylbenzoquinone, is a DNA alkylating agent. Diaziquone shows a broad antitumor activity against numerous transplantable murine tumors including curative activity against several intracerebrally implanted tumors. Diaziquone crosses the blood brain barrier[1][2]. In Vitro:Diaziquone is a potent marrow suppressive agent inducing significant degrees of leukopenia, granulocytopenia, and thrombocytopenia[2]. In Vivo:Diaziquone (6.75 mg/sq m daily for 5 consecutive days or single-dose 26 mg/sq m) has a broad range of activity against primary nervous system tumors and has enhancement effect combined with either 1,3-bis(2-chloroethyl)-1-nitrosourea or procarbazine in athymic mice[1].
