Cymoxanil is a fungicidal cyanooxime against plant diseases caused by fungi belonging to the Perenosporales. Cymoxanil affects growth, DNA and RNA synthesis in Phytophthora[1].
IC50 & Target:Fungal[1]
In Vitro:Colony growth and germ tube emergence of sporangia and encysted zoospores of Phytophthora infestans were highly sensitive to Cymoxanil (ED50: 0.5-1.5 μg/mL), whereas differentiation of sporangia and zoospore release were insensitive at concentrations up to 100 μg/mL[1].
In Vivo:Cymoxanil (0.5-2 mg/kg; fed with diet; for successive 21 days) shows insignificant histopathological changes in treated rats at low dose, whereas medium and high doses treated rats exhibited adverse signs and symptoms of toxicity[2].
