Afloqualone (HQ-495) is an orally active central muscle relaxant and antivertiginous agent that can increase the sensitivity of GABA receptors in neurons of the lateral vestibular nucleus. Afloqualone (HQ-495) can be used in the research of low back pain and neck-arm-shoulder syndrome[1][2][3].
In Vivo:Afloqualone (intravenous injection; 5-20 mg/kg; single dose) inhibits the mono-synaptic and poly-synaptic reflex potentials in a dose-dependent manner in spinalized cats[1].
Afloqualone (oral administration; 10-35 mg/kg; single dose) can relax γ-rigidity and α-rigidity in rats in a dose-dependent manner[1].
Afloqualone (oral administration; 5-10 mg/kg; single dose) inhibits vestibular nystagmus in a dose-dependent manner in spinalized cats[2].
