4,4′-Dipyridyl is a heterocyclic compound. 4,4′-Dipyridyl is utilized as an electronic and photosensitive building block and bidentate ligand in supramolecular chemistry. 4,4′-Dipyridyl can also be used as a drug intermediate in the synthesis of paraquat, a widely used herbicide[1][2]. In Vitro:Drug intermediates are used as raw materials for the production of bulk drugs, or they can refer to a material produced during synthesis of an API that must undergo further molecular change or processing before it becomes an API.
