Introduction of 550-83-4 :

Propoxycaine hydrochloride is a voltage-gated sodium channel inhibitor. Propoxycaine hydrochloride delays monophasic A spike action potential recovery. Propoxycaine hydrochloride increases bulk lateral, rotational, and annular lipid fluidity in neuronal membrane lipid bilayers, with greater inner monolayer fluidization, and induces membrane protein clustering. Propoxycaine hydrochloride can be used for the research of pain[1][2][3]. In Vitro:Propoxycaine (1 mM; 5 min) hydrochloride, when combined with Procaine (HY-B0546), delays action potential recovery in isolated Rana pipiens sciatic peroneal nerves and produces a pronounced, prolonged Wedensky block[1].
Propoxycaine (0.01-1 mM; 30 min) hydrochloride increases lateral mobility of bovine cerebral cortex synaptosomal plasma membrane vesicles (SPMVs), with a greater effect on the inner monolayer than the outer monolayer[3].
Propoxycaine (0.01-1 mM; 30 min) hydrochloride increases annular lipid fluidity in bovine cerebral cortex SPMVs[3].
Propoxycaine (0.02-1 mM; 30 min) hydrochloride induces protein clustering in bovine cerebral cortex SPMVs[3].
Propoxycaine (0.01-1 mM; 30 min) hydrochloride increases rotational mobility of bovine cerebral cortex SPMVs, with a greater, selective effect on the inner monolayer[3].
