Fendosal (HP 129) is an orally active, potent non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent. Fendosal (HP 129) is also an inhibitor of Plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 (PAI-1) [1].
In Vivo:Fendosal (p.o.) exhibits an ED50 of 143.66 mg/kg[1].
Fendosal (rats, 10, 25, and 50 mg/kg, orally daily for 21 days) produces a significant dose-dependent inhibition of the paw volume increase in both the adjuvant-injected and noninjected hind paws[1].
Fendosal is only slightly more active orally when dissolved in 0.1 M sodium bicarbonate than when administered as a suspension (36.1% inhibition vs. 28.5%) at a dose of 50 mg/kg using a 30 minute pretreatment time[1].
