GGTI-2166 is a geranylgeranyltransferase I (GGTase I) inhibitor. GGTI-2166 blocks geranylgeranylation modification of target proteins. GGTI-2166 inhibits RANKL- or TNF-α-induced pre-osteoclast formation and TRAP activity. GGTI-2166 is applicable to research on osteoclast differentiation[1].
In Vitro:GGTI-2166 (0.3-3 μM; 2 days) dose-dependently inhibits RANKL-induced osteoclast precursor formation in mouse bone marrow-derived M-CSF-dependent monocytes (MD cells)[1].
GGTI-2166 (1.25-10 μM; 3 days) inhibits RANKL-induced osteoclast precursor formation in RAW 264.7 mouse monocytes in a dose-dependent manner[1].
GGTI-2166 (1-3 μM; 40 h) inhibits the geranylgeranylation of 21-26 kDa small G proteins in RAW 264.7 mouse monocytes[1].
GGTI-2166 (1 μM; 2 days) inhibits the formation of osteoclast precursors in TNF-α-induced mouse bone marrow-derived M-CSF-dependent monocytes (MD cells)[1].
