MCL0020 is a potent and selective melanocortin MC4 receptor antagonist, with an IC50 of 11.63 nM. MCL0020 dose-dependently and significantly attenuates restraint stress-induced anorexia without affecting food intake[1].

In Vitro: MCL0020 inhibited [125I][N1e4, D-Phe7]α-MSH binding to membranes of COS-1 cells with IC50 values of 11.63[1].
In Vivo: MCL0020 attenuates swim stress-induced anxiogeniclike behavior in light/dark exploration tests in mice[1].
MCL0020 significantly reverses stress-induced anorexia in rats[1].
